Flipping our Lunch Times
Recently we flipped our two lunch breaks in response to our data on children wanting to play. We noticed that after two hours of learning in their classrooms they wanted to run and play and not sit down and eat their lunch.
So we flipped the time! Now at the announcement of play time the students have the flexibility to go out and play or eat something if they are hungry. Then the music goes to end lunch and they have 10 minutes outside with their friends eating and refuel their energy tanks before the next session of learning.
Now we are finding that the children are much calmer when going into the next phase of learning!
